Just updated my 2015 maps to 2018 maps. Process was painless, 39min from start to finish in car.

Cost was $52cnd from codemybimmer.ca

Neat! Sorry dumb question: How did you know your car supported the map upgrade? Is there an option you need to check before you buy the upgrade?

No need to buy the upgrade. You can do it yourself for free.
