MPE Exhaust Flap Actuator Plug Cover?

So I just received a new M-Perf. Exhaust (MPE) muffler & tips for my 2018 X5 xDrive35i. I was surprised to see one of the new tips did not have the small frame affixed to it for mounting the OEM exhaust flap valve. One of the MPE tips for my 2015 X5 xDrive35i came with this mount affixed.

Instead of the valve mount, my new MPE tips came with a small dummy plug cover – “Exhaust Flap Actuator Plug Cover” part # 18302411427. Here’s a link to it…https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...r/18302411427/

It appears you're supposed to use this small plug cover instead of transferring the original exhaust flap valve to the MPE tip. Assuming that’s true, does anyone know where it goes under the vehicle near the muffler? The bottom of the exhaust flap actuator plug cover has a ribbed plastic push rivet. Thanks…

strange, the MPE I received and installed recently had the bracket and dummy module attached to the passenger side exhaust finisher.

Are there any obvious spots/holes to push that plug cover in to on the exhaust shielding?

No, there are no places or holes I can find on the muffler to attach the dummy plug.

my MPE came with the dummy module to plug that into but i never plugged it in as it obviously wasn't going to be doing anything. i'd rather be in your situation where there isn't extra metal and material with a plastic plug to put into open harness to protect from weather and salt creep and the like. just zip tie it off anywhere when snapped in. nice!
