Indeed, it is costly and labor intensive but if one is contemplating a front plate delete and a reflector spray/install may as well just go "full send".
I have a contact in the EU who can get me parts but shipping is the most expensive portion with only two options wait for container to ship which is every three months or pay for two different shippers to bring it to my door step.

Bingo. Shipping cost.
I can bring them in too, but there will be shipping cost to me plus the most expensive one, shipping cost to the end user. For bumper that big, via trucking, at least $400.

Considering these are built in the US for the EU/ROW in theory would could get our hands on one without it going to EU then coming back to the NAR but I have no idea how to even go about that.

I wish it was that easy.
BMW parts department is very secure like a federal jail.
I did able to sneak out some Euro Parts out of them couple years back, now it is almost impossible.
They want VIN for restricted parts.

Understood. Same with Audi. You used to be able to order Euro bits at certain dealerships but now no VIN no go and if it the vehicle wasn't sold in that region the part cannot be ordered. It gets "greyed-out" in ETKA and you cannot submit the request.

Did you install them?

I placed my order with Ben. We'll see how long mine sit in the box before install.

It's funny that you ask, I am supposed to pick her up from the body shop later today. I didn't feel like messing with it so I paid them to do it for me.

What was the quote for the install?

I'm pretty sure I will install them myself but live in a condo and don't really have much space to work. There is a local shop that rents lifts and tools so I'm thinking about booking an hour there...but if a body shop will do it for around the same amount..I might go that route.

He said $100, I'll let you know what the invoice says once I pick it up.

My next project is the Race Chip Black GTS that I just received from r33_RGSport

Wow, $100.
In So Cal, Labor rate are way cheap since there are too many shops willing to do it for cheaper but not necessarily do a good job.

Thank you for the RaceChip order, can't wait to hear your review.
Once you are settled, do consider RaceChip XLR. Had it in my G30 for the past 3 weeks, loving it.

sounds good. thanks.

I think i'm going with the front splitter next so maybe I'll book the time at the DIY shop and do both at the same time.

I do suggest installing front splitter on a lift. Much2 easier.
For the reflector, as long as you have a floor jack, drill, and basic tools, you can do it. Just hope it doesn't rain, haha.

Good to know. How long does it take on average for front splitter install?

I'll prob do splitter, reflectors and swap to summer wheels all at the same time and maybe book out 3 hrs. That'll still be a lot less $$ than paying a shop to do it and I don't mind doing this kind of stuff DIY.

Splitter depending on the fitment.
If it OE part, should be an hour max.

cool thanks. I am thinking I'll go OEM unless you have any leads on a replica that has good fitment??

Check out RW Carbon.
Their fitment is pretty good.
Few members got them already.

Guys - anyone in MA with the front reflectors installed? Would like to know if you've had issues with your state inspection.

My dealer refused to install them while I had the wheels off for my MPBK install last month because they said it would make the vehicle fail state inspection since the headlight housing doesn't feature an orange built in corner type of reflector.

I could probably find an independent shop to throw them on but would like to understand the legality first so I don't have to deal with this again down the road. Thanks!
