Coding your X5 the easy way

I just got set-up with Bimmercode and while my first attempt at changing things resulted in a big fat nothing. Do you have to make one change at a time between pushing the "Code" button? Also, is there some sort of guide (not the quick start) that provides more detailed explanations of each option? Some are obvious and others are not.

Polskidebesciak - If you go to Bimmercode website, it will give you a list of OBD II adapter that will work with the app. I purchased the wifi model and been using it with my android tablet and phone.

The other major coding thread has a link to a cheat sheet that can help with some stuff otherwise your best “guide” to BimmerCode is to read through this thread.

When you say you got nothing did the code not take or not complete? You should be able to do multiple things within a given module at once but I started with something simple and easy to make sure it worked (like LEDs on reverse or open/close trunk from footwell button) then kept adding.

This might be a silly question but did you check to be sure you aren’t in demo mode?

2. Are we able to change ambient colors using this app?

1. Yes, for a short period of time.

2.Yes, you would have to go into expert mode.

That looks amazing!
I wasn't able to code the back up camera while already in motion. I was just able to change the setting where it stays on longer after going reverse and driving forward.

I think I did the backup camera with Esys before, not sure if it works with bummercode.

Hi, how did you code the added turn signals to HUD? i have 2017 x5 with m package.

Using Bimmercode, but bear in mind that it does not work if you have full digital dash (6WB).

With the new firmware you can no longer change these colors, you are stuck with the standard ugly blue, uglier orange and white.

I think you can, you just have to enter the value manually.. here are the values!

I always have it at max... even that is little dim IMHO.

Even without 6WB turn signals can become unavailable as well.
I have a 2016 40e and went in for service and has a update from the dealer to fix a pre-ignition problem. That update removed the option for me. Everything else appears to work though.

Just did some coding last night with the new update and noticed the ability to code in the sport auto transmission. Is this the same as clicking the shifter left to go into S/M mode?
