DIY M Performance Brake Upgrade?

Been looking for DIY instructions for this -- cannot find any. Anybody take this on as a DIY and provide a write-up and Pics?

Thanks. Duke

No offense to you, but if you don't know how to change a brake without a DIY, I suggest not to do it.
It is your life and whoever in the car with you afterall.

How can people afford such cars and then cannot pay the price for a proper service to change brakes or do the wheel alignment?
I guess everything is possible judging by who is the president over there.

I'm gonna assume he's just looking for what size sockets to use and what size T for the rotor lock etc. to make the job easier and with hopes to not strip a nut due to picking the wrong size. I hope he's not asking for an actual how too for RGs reasoning. And for that there is plenty of generic you tube videos.

Good point for paying to install, as for prez, he's not as bad as Chausescu, but he's bad

You made good points until you started hating on the prez...

Half of us do like him, after all.

He actually got 2mil fewer votes. Aside from that, half of those who did vote, held the nose before pulling the lever for him.

Judging by those sweet caliper covers, it makes sense you voted for Hillary.

Jeeze look what I started!!

As to the "on point" stuff, I choose to work on my cars because I enjoy it, not because I cannot afford it. Many things I cannot work on but I do my own brake changes (rotor and pads), oil at 5,000 miles between dealer scheduled intervals, filter changes, plug changes, brake fluid flushes, interior trim work (I recently took out the brushed aluminum trim in my X4 and replaced it with carbon fiber -- a great up grade) and do all of the detail work on my cars. Ok, enough of that.

Just wondering if someone had taken this job on, on their own. D

Ps. Flame suit, on!

I'm with you on this man. I enjoy wrenching too, just don't have a garage. I did just find a place nearby that will rent you a lift and tools to do your own work at a fraction of the price it would cost to take it to a shop. I'm super excited to use the place to install front lip, replace damaged fender flare, install painted reflectors and open grills. I'll swap to my summer wheels while I'm at it.

Unfortunately, can't help you with the brake upgrade DIY, but it shouldn't be too different from the prior gen X5s. Here's some DIYs for the E53.

Keep in mind the brakes will need to be coded.

Man, you are really hands on.
Get wrenching and post some pictures when you are done.
Nice looking car should be shared.
