Pirelli Scorpion kudos

So huge storm here in Ontario last night and today. Had a 6 hour drive home last night and the last hour (which took 2 and a half) was through a blizzard followed by freezing rain.
Put the Scorpions on a few weeks ago and they had their first test last night.
WOW!
Just fantastic driving through 6 inch mounds between lanes and slippery roads.
Considering I had my wife and our 2 little ones in the back (4 and 1) I was a little worried at first but these things were amazing in what was some terrible driving conditions.
Ditched my all seasons (Conti DWS) in favour of dedicated snows this year for my new F15 and MAN did I chose right.
Bring on the rest of winter!!!!

That is so good to hear. I was out briefly in the Jeep last night in that weather and I said to my wife I wonder how our X5 would be with the Pirelli RFT Scorpion Ice and Snows. Do you have the 20" staggered setup with RFT's as your winter setup?

+1 for the staggered RFT Scorpion Ice and Snows. I'm on my second winter with them, been very happy with the performance thus far.

Picked up truck up in November and couldn't find a staggered set to save my life despite the fact that I already had a second set of rims for them from my last X5. Went to a squared set in 19's. They don't look as nice but they sure do perform!

^^ It'll still look better than being in the ditch waiting for a tow truck.

I ordered our 2016 X5 in August and my shop got me the rims and tires in a 20" staggered setup in September before our X5 arrived. I had a few forum members looking to do the same thing but the Pirelli in RFT 315's (rears) were impossible to find. My guy found three tires and I took two of them. 19" is not so bad. I had them on the E70. You can always push out the rears with spacers. Like stewy604 said better then being in a ditch.

I hear ya, dedicated snows is the way to go. I actually got 18" set up with the scorpions. Although this winter so far seems pretty much a wash out, I'm sure ill be glad once the snow starts hitting the fan.

any suggestions on where to buy spacers here in southern Ontario? Looking to push out the 19's and pick up a black kidney grill.

Thanks folks! Happy new year...will give them a shout next week.
Would 20 on the rear and 15 fronts work? Just wondering how they'll look when the summers go back on.
