Cause it throws even more crap down the side of the car and only the most extreme enthusiast will notice the wheels are flush with the fenders. I could understand if the wheels were really inset, but they are not that bad stock. Now after saying that, I actually like the flush look. Lol

the oem 19" wheels look pretty corny on the x5 because they're not proportioned to the vehicle's size and they are recessed more than x5 wheels used to (comparing to e53 and e70).

I think he likes the mperformance better...just saying they should have been black to begin with, with the shadowline trim being black

^^^ Correct. With the shadowline trim, not sure why BMW doesn't include the black grilles, and black exhaust tips. Our E82, came with black exhaust tips and chrome grille, looks so mis-matched IMO.

Come to think of it, M cars do not necessarily have all black grills even though they have shadow line trims.

They should include instead the double slat grills with chrome trim as part of the M Sport package.

I actually like the chrome grills, but then again, my car is carbon black so I do like having the contrast.

I have considered getting double-slat grills in black though.
