X5 standard seats bad?
How bad is the standard seats in the X5, no sport or comfort. Just standard seat with electrical adjustment. I come from a F10 with comfort seats and I am out looking for a X5, found one decent priced fully equipt, but no extra seat option.

I wouldn't buy any BMW without either the sport or comfort seats. I had a first generation X3 with the base seats. They weren't terrible, but the optional seats are well worth the cost in terms of added comfort and adjustability- especially if you take long trips.

I always had sports or multi contour seats in my BMWs but I always find standard seats more comfy. It's weird. You get all these adjustments but standard seats feels better on the butt. Main reason I opt for optional seats are because they LOOK better to my eyes. haha...

I also went from a F10 with comfort seats to our X5 with Nappa leather seats with ventilation. I cannot be happier with the seats. The leather is so smooth I like rubbing my bare skin on it. I strongly recommend it.

We have the standard seats in our '14 X5d and find them very comfortable. Take quite a few road trips and regardless of how many hours we spend in them, they remain comfortable.

I recently had a, nearly stock, half-day rental. I was already happy with my option choices, but I immediately was missing my upgrades (Tinted Windows, Multi-countour seats, HUD, HK, DA+). The standard seats in an X5 are going to better than those found in a 3-series, but the multi-contour seats are easily going to feel and look better. Individual buyer just has to visit lots and check them out in person. I recommend you call ahead to dealers so they can pre-pull any vehicles so you can easily compare side-by-side various features. |

Every vehicle we have now or will have in the future will have the multi-comfort seats included. Can't afford to suffer uncomfortable seating.

Sometimes complex seating doesn't mean comfortable. As you can see some people say the standard seat is comfortable. I don't find my sport seat comfortable as compared to my cheap Volkswagen with very very standard seating. It's all matter of personal preference, seats with so many adjustments sometimes it's hard to get it right.

There is also a conversation regarding comfort seats with ventilation stiffer than standard or msport seat because of added tech and mechanism. Standard seat with air suspension is very comfortable, I've taken 12 hour trips and it's night and day compared to my old 335i sport seats. |

I drove an M Sport F15 with the sport seats. Just couldn't get comfortable. Got the multi-contour seats and wouldn't trade it for the world. I don't drive long distances too often, but when I do, they are long stretches across Texas. Need to be comfy.

The seats are stiff and until I read this I couldn't figure it out. The napa leather is awesome, but I do get tired/sore in the seats. I'd rather have the stock seats over these any day. I've had the regular comfort seats and have not noticed this. The ventilation definitely does something too them. |

I have the standards and they are fine for my normal sized body...I could see if someone was a larger human they may get a little rough. I drove an X3 loaner with the standard seats and can say for certain that the X5's are far and away better than those.

I am torn on seat selection as I have always owned a BMW with sport seats, but currently have a luxury line without multi-contour seats spec'ed. Standard seats only... How are the standard seats in the F15 X5 because via prior loaner experience in a 3-Series or a 5-Series the standard seats have always been fairly uncomfortable.

I'm perfectly fine with my standard seats. I do, however, have the upgraded nappa leather so they feel nicer than the "leatherette". Having said that, I'm 5'8" and about 160lbs... sooo...
