INCREDIBLE. Being that the USA is BMWs biggest, if not one of their biggest markets for big, fast SUVS....it is mind boggling that this M50d is not available here. W/o a doubt, USA would triple or quadruple the sales of this model. I do NOT understand BMW's thinking with this one!!!

Had my current gen X6 now 3 years and performance and economy are great - I do get to drive on the autobahn though and use it - sadly in the UK you'll end up in jail if you drive like we can in Germany! It is;however, a fact that you just get used to the performance and at times wish it had more.

I know what you mean, but I have mixed feelings about it. Do forum rules state that I’m allowed to remove the “50d” part only!?!

Congrats on the 50d!
Some people think that the back of the X5///M50d is a mouthful of a name... some people like it because it distinguishes the 50d ///M from the rest of the lesser engines.. and others hate it because its a clutter and prefer the cleaner look. Of course its totally up to you.

long before the TDI scandal diesel was never a popular method of fueling or powering non-commercial vehicles let alone luxury vehicles. now that the scandal has made it even more difficult to sell these products MB and Audi have pulled their diesel motors and i have to imagine BMW will too. on a percentage basis look how little the X5D sold, or the GL BlueTec, look how poorly the RR TD6 is doing... hell go back to the v10 Touareg TDI... that thing sold so poorly that in my area i never saw any on the road except mine. the powers that be have determined that we "want" electric. eDrive, eTron and the like will most likely be the only alternative motor when shopping in the future.
