Painted Reflectors

I'm considering going for the painted reflectors on my M-Sport X5.

Do you think I should just get the IND painted reflectors ($110 for the painted front set and $75 for the painted rear set)

OR

Buy the spray paint matched to my paint code ($25) and remove and paint all 4 reflectors myself

Let me know what you all did for yours.

Thanks!

I’d tape off and spray. Way cheaper and way easier.

I ordered mine from Ben r33_RGSport. There’s no way I’d attempt to paint my own.

PM me your color code. I can do a combo deal if you are getting other things too.

FYI, if you screws up, each reflector cost about $20-$25/each.

And, spray can color usually doesn't match up as good.

I just ordered the front and rear colour matched reflectors from ind (along with a dual slat grill) waiting for shipment, hopefully sometime this week.
Anything you read, you won't be disappointed with their products. I'm a first time buyer of their stuff as well

IND is great, I've always used them. Color match is perfect, service is great. This is not to say other vendors are not adequate, I'm just going by personal experience. On that note, I would never try to paint these on my own.

IND paint is pretty good. I have seen and installed them. Just a bit overpriced IMO.

Somewhat it is.
Not as easy as the 2/3/4/5/6/7 series car.
But, it is well worth it.

hah fair enough. Still undecided at this point and think I might prioritize getting the front splitter before any other smaller mods.

That’s one reason why mine are still in the box, almost one year later.
I’ll get to them after the interior is done, which I hope is this week.

I got my fronts from RGSport and painted the rears myself. They turned out okay...you can only tell it was a home paint job from 1 ft away.

The front driver side install was easy for me. Passenger side was the one that was the pain. Hardest part is getting the old double sided tape off.

If your car is black, just order adhesive black vinyl from Amazon for $8 and apply them on your own. Color match is almost spot on and installation takes 10 min max.

Agree.
That's why I don't offer Black. To easy to get it done.

I asked about tinting myself, including the tail lights.
Was told something new was presented at Sema that can withstand cold weather... Shop would not install existing products as they would peel off in cold.

Will most likely white out reflectors in MPackage conversion.

Ideally it is the best clean job. Maybe find Euro guy who want USDM bumper and do even trade?
But, for the price and labor hassle, will anybody up to it?
Doing the painted reflector job is 5% of what need to be done with Euro Bumper replacement.
