Our major branded stations sell 93 octane as premium because they require us to do so. In our unbranded stations we sell 91 octane premium which in our State is the legal minimum for premium fuel.

The majors are always tinkering with additives to add to make you (the customer) come to their brand instead of another. Its a marketing ploy but it does have additives that will help reduce knock, improve mileage etc.

Shell V93 is pricier than the others, perhaps for a reason.
I guess oils, whether engine or gasoline, are a good investment for vehicle longevity. Surprised that some big states do not allow beyond 91. My Saab was taking 93 only.

For people who use Shell gas, get the Fuel Rewards card from the station. It is a loyalty type card you swipe at the pump which saves you money. It is free to get and you just activate it online. Typically I get five cents off per gallon. Sometimes it can be ten cents or even twenty. So significant savings over time for a known brand of gas.

Same here... and they carry diesel.

I mainly use Exxon/Mobil since it's cheapest. I feel I get lower mpg on BP. I do Shell sometimes. Costco gas is always good, but they don't have it in NY. Also no Chevron/Texaco unfortunately.

I don't do Gulf, Citgo, Valero, etc. even though some of these are Top Tier. I don't fill no-brand.
