This what I got right now, it's 720p only, but remember that main purpose of dashcam is to keep you out of trouble if someone accuses you of wrongdoing (then you can defend yourself by showing video-proof - it's not there to help you accuse someone in court (hence I don't need super high quality dashcam that can read plates clearly at every angle). But everyone is free to do what they want of course
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Nextbase-DU...4383.l4275.c10 For my wife I bought a bit more expensive one: https://www.amazon.com/N2-Pro-1920x1...se+TwinCam+Duo I had dashcams since 2007. Had cheap ones for $40 and expensive ones for $300. They all go bad at some point (it's either electronics inside or plastic holders brake), so it makes sense to buy a dashcam not too expensive. Just my opinion |

Dashcam
I have this in my wife's car and it is fantastic. I just ordered another for my x5 (w/ 128gb card), I'll post pics once I wire it all up. I plan on attaching a 20k\mah battery also for parking mode just like her car. I'm concerned with hit and runs/reading license plates specifically. I want a camera that will make faces visible.

I'm running a Thinkware F770 2-channel dash cam which is hardwired in the rear fuse box and backed up by a cellink battery unit. I had major radio signal interference at first then I simply moved the dash camera wiring away from the antenna unit. I've been using it for over a year and I don't have anymore interference.
@Duped; Blackboxmycar.com has a DIY install video on their website and on YouTube. Good luck. |

I like how it integrates with the car's electrical system (via tapping a wire in the CAS module) and uses a super capacitor for electricity storage. I like the included video software as well, as it supports GPS speed and location information in addition to dual camera output. The downside is as you mentioned, the size. I have it placed to the right of my rearview mirror, so it doesn't obstruct any useful area on my windshield. |

I have both Valentine One & a Dash Cam so my quick and easy hardwire solution is always invisicord.
http://invisicord.com/osc2/catalog/p...575b289855e389 They can make a custom V1 & Dash Cam cable in one so it can handle both. You remove the mirror covers and literally just slide in the taps behind the current wires and you're done. |
