MPE Installed...WOW

So my friends and I installed the MPE last night. Whoa dude. If you don't have it and are considering it, buy it. Just like everyone has said, this is what it's SUPPOSED to sound like. Here are some pics. There's a sound clip on my Instagram - @therealnickallen

Easy install, but we did unexpectedly have to cut the original muffler off, as it was welded on to the pipe. I expected it to be bolted on, but whatever.

Left the tips chrome. Not sure if they'll stay that way or not, but I thought it looked pretty clean.

Congrats! The good news is that it gets better with each mile you drive.
+1 at what Kzang said, now you have two tips to keep clean. That’s not a bad problem to have.
Enjoy!

Congrats man! Good to hear you are liking it. Are your tips perfectly even or is one further out than the other? I知 trying to figure out if it痴 unique to my unit or if all are like this.

Those tips are attached by clamps and can be adjusted.. just loosen the clamp and pull or push.

Thanks guys.

Yah I loosened the exhaust tip clamps and tried to adjust but mainly adjusts whether the tips are centered in the bumper. I might just have the shop loosen up the connections, align the tips then tighten down the exhaust hangers first. I知 thinking this should correct things.

Would the car be too loud for a new born? I was planning in doing the MPE soon but was worried about the baby.

Thanks!

I think it would be fine for a new born. The only time it's particularly loud is when I cold start it in my work garage which is pretty much a concrete box. The loudness subsides after about 5 seconds.

A satin or matte black powdercoat might look really good to add some contrast against the rest of your glossy paint.

1) I thought MPE came with black tips?
2) does MPE still have a flap that closes after a while?

1. Nope, chrome tips. But I think many paint or powder coat them gloss black before installing.
2. No flap. There is a dummy module included that you can plug control wire to though.

I think I知 going to roll with the chrome tips until they start looking rough, then I値l powder coat black. I知 glad the tips come off of the MPE to give you that option.

My first one is on the way on June and I'm worried that my MPE will scare him every time. I'll let you know how it goes in June.

Well my son is 10 months old and was passed out when I put him in the car last night after installing. He didn稚 wake up on the ride home so I知 sure you値l be fine. You really can稚 hear it inside the car unless you roll all the windows down.
