I called the 800 # and spoke to some guy. He said my production was slated for next week. Did not give me a date though. Blowing smoke?

If production is next week, you should have VIN, decode it and also see what VIN's are produced today to see if the numbers work.

My X5 production began a week ago and the current status states "Finishing Touches".
Delays due to lack of cameras is so silly. First, its so stupid that a 55K SUV doesn't come with rear camera standard. hope you will get your car soon! |

Had THAT call with my SA this morning. I am one of the affected. He said I should write him an email expressing my disappointment and he will take it to corporate. At this time, i dont know what i will do, but I ALMOST pulled the trigger on a cayenne diesel; and now from what i hear, the diesel gets the new VAG motor; 300 hp + more torque.
Thoughts?

The 800# folks are clueless. They in fact point me back to the dealer and they say the dealer has more insight into the production schedule. Awesome....NOT!! Does anyone in BMW corporate ever monitor these forums? What this silly issue is doing to their loyal customers is pathetic!

Nope, The Cayenne Diesel 240hp has been discontinued. They are not taking any more orders.

I have one X5 on order, but mine will most likely be delivered in Jan/2014 anyway because I decided to wait for Glacier Silver paint (available from Dec) but maybe you or anyone can take this issue into BMW's attention to get an official answer... have you guys heard about these popular social networks: Twitter and Facebook?

^ Someone was suggesting a management change. Others were going to send emails.
Here is the new guy, president of Manufacturing: “I feel very fortunate to have been selected to lead this plant. Spartanburg is a significant contributor to BMW’s global production network and I am excited about the opportunity to direct future growth and expansion in South Carolina’s automotive manufacturing industry,” said Manfred Erlacher, President of BMW Manufacturing. https://www.bmwusfactory.com/bmw_art...manufacturing/ |

Haven't spoken to my CA yet, but BMW NA (via the 800#) agent just told me our order is "scheduled for daily production pack" and should be in production within a few days. Our order includes the backup camera.

Mine has been in 112 status for the last 2 weeks and everything that's in 112 status is on pre-production status and are possibly impacted. The dealer says it is, the 800# rep. says they have no information on any impact - bottom line - they are clueless. It's really amazing!

So far my CA says our production date stands, but he supposedly has a call in to the factory and is waiting to hear back... Maybe we can go to autozone or radio shack and buy some damn cameras, send them on down to South Carolina.
At this point, I just want to know whether or not it's worth putting the winter tires on the X3 or if we'll be trading it in in 2 or 3 weeks... In related news, I heard all production of all cars is being delayed due to a supply chain issue on air, can't fill the tires. |
