Centre Storage Box - Tray
Hi all,
Just moving into my new X5 over the weekend, finding places for all my bits 'n' pieces. The centre cubby box between the seats is quite deep & I was wondering if BMW did a tray like what I had in my Land Rover, which was useful for quick access items, such as gate fobs, pens & the like, saving having to rummage around in the depths of the cubby. But it seems BMW don't do such an item, but I did find some on eBay from China & I was just wondering if anyone on here has bought one or has any other ideas on having a tray in the centre cubby box. Below is a link to one I spotted on eBay, any thoughts or suggestions gratefully received http://www.ebay.ie/itm/BMW-X5-X6-F15...8AAOSwZ1BXdjEK |

For quick access items, I typically use the console on the left, below the headlight controls. The one on eBay could be a bit of a pain, as you'd have to remove it every time you needed to access something below.

There are actually a few designs of center console trays on eBay. Just search for BMW X5 f15 tray. I'm on the fence, I think I will get one eventually. It's only $20-30... Can't really go wrong. Getting stuff from China sellers takes 3-4 weeks to get here! Have done it many times...good values :-)

Well I've one bought, so we'll see what it's like when it arrives. For the small cost involved I thought it was worth a try.
stewy604 I agree that it can be a bit of a pain when trying to access access item at the bottom of the cubby, but I had one in my Land Rover & generally had some keys, a pen, gate fob etc on the tray & it was dead handy for getting at those few bits quickly. The little pull out drawer/cubby under the headlight switch is a really handy storage place, but pens & the like don't fit. Shame there's not a pen holder on the inside of the main glovebox lid though |

i have one, and its hella handy. after removing the phone cradle, the console became too deep and i needed to search for everything. got the tray, just slid it it, no install necessary. now items i use the most go on the tray, and other less used items goes to the bottom

Oh I really like that, seems much better than the one I've got on eBay.
The long slot for I'm guessing a pen, the coin slots & the cable entry for a phone charger, very nice indeed Can I ask where you got that from, as I've not seen one like that on ebay ? Last edited by kered; 09-13-2016 at 11:41 AM.. |

With the wireless charging, you cannot have the tray.. as the charging holster/clip would be in the way...

I bought the same one as Topec and love it. Here's a link:
http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/7...73575350672367 It took a while to get it from China, but it was worth it. |
