does an F15 have it's own wifi network?
If so, is it any good? how much does data cost? would I be better off using the data plan on my ipad? What company does the data come from in the USA? Any other details that anyone would like to offer?

Good info on this site. There is so much about the X5 that BMW doesnt clarify and there is no info to be found anywhere on BMW sites. Dealerships also seem to know very little...

I don't know about Audi but the purpose of the built in SIM card is to get data for BMW online Apps like weather.
3G is more than enough for such apps and its never intended for in car hotspot. BMW probably doesn't want the overhead of WiFi issues. It's complicated and unnecessary. Most smartphones does come up with built in hotSpot that you can enable to distribute your network. |
