RFT Wider than non-RFT?

This thread is for the guys that have replaced their RFT with non-RFT or standard tires. I want to get the DWS 06, but read on another thread where the "look" of the standard tire is not as wide as the RFT. I could probably give up some softness out of the standard tire, but I really didn't want it to look like a thin (profile) tire. I love the low squat look of the RFT and would rather keep that. So for those who have replaced their RFT with standard tire, could you please comment on the looks and if you are satisfied with your purchase. I hate the RFT's cost and tread life.

@buckeyewalt , it depends on the tire brand and style.
Some tire, such as; Michellin Pilot Super Sport, have rounded edges look. While Pirelli PZero have the squarish look.
Also sometime the sidewall design also plays effect to your eyes.

I have the P Zero RFT on right now and yes they do have the squarish look that I like on the X5. I saw on a few posts here that some who put on DWS06 tires on didn't like the profile (rounded shoulder) versus what they had before. I was trying to get some responses from some people who have replaced their RFT with standard (preferably DWS06) to see how they visually compared with their RFT.

Plenty of guys did it on their E70, you can find some pics there. Verdict is that it doesn't look as good (the block look is gone) but you get a bit of a better drive. Personally, I want the look of the RFTs.

Thanks for the response, tried to look for some pics, I knew there were some, but I'll look again. I was never good at search!

Easy to see they indeed look less "fat" than the OEM
RFTs... Not sure I'm a fan of the thread pattern either.

Kzang, Thank You for the pics,,,just what I needed to see. I did a search again and found a few more, but yours was the best view. Love the cost of the DWS06 but like the box look better. Got to pull the plug soon.
Thanks again.

Can you go "oversize" like 265/45/19 and get the look you want in a non RFT?

Got to have 20" rims, I don't think they make a 265/45 in anything, probably a mistype
