I wouldn't call this a group buy,
More as custom order, since margin on OEM parts are not that great anymore.

I can save you a lot of trouble. I went through all the research on brake up grades, for my new 30d Msport and in the end you have two options, in terms of keeping factory BMW fitment.
1. BMW M Performance brakes, if money is no option! - Factory backed and fitted by BMW.
2. Cost effective option is buy a set of rotors and callipers off a BMW M50d and install Carbotec performance pads, still BMW parts and factory backed. I did the latter and I am 100% happy with the result. I just could not justify the high cost for M performance brakes. See pictures of my upgrade, I had power costed BMW blue to complete the original factor look.

Something to think off.

Because it would be custom setup.

Interesting....

The pic of the two rotors side by side is that the stock front rotor compared to the m50d front rotor? That's a huge difference is it is.

Did your braking feel noticeably better after the upgrade?

Alan
Looks like it's the front vs rear rotor...

The rotor on the LHS, is the original front rotor off a 30d Msport and the one on the RHS is the replacement front rotor off a M50d. Huge difference! The difference in the rear was minor, compared to the front, did not take photo.

Yes, massive difference in braking force and feel. You don't have to apply any where near the amount of pressure to stop the car. Very happy with upgrade and would do it all again. Also looks 'the Business'. Almost every outing the wife is stopped and asked, "who did the brakes, where did you get them?". I did a whole post about the upgrade on 'Bimmerfest.com' last month, go have a look. In Australia, the M performance brakes are $6,300Aus. plus approx. $1,000 for fitting.... All up the upgrade to M50 cost approx. $2,500Aus including new performance pads and fitting took just under a day.

This kit will cost $6975 for the X5, if I'm spending that much, I'd go for brembo.

Its a waste for the X5 unless you really plan on tracking the thing. I am 1000% happy with my $2499 front and rear oem M Performance Brake Kit.
