Devices left plugged into OBD2 triggering alarm when locked
So I'm having some issues where I have an Scan gauge plugged into the OBD2 port and when ever I lock the car, the alarm will go off after 3-5 seconds, I tired it with other devices Ie MXOBD2 Link, and same scenario alarm goes off after locking.
I didnt have any issues with my previous cars E70 X5 and F02 7 series I usually leave it in with no problem. Am I missing something or is there a way to code this "feature" off? |

There is a way to code it. BMW activate the OBD2 protection since a thief can duplicate a key when they have access to the port.

Is this the same port that the driving-habit dongle/device from Insurance companies connects with?
I'm wondering how those people can connect it to their X5. Insurance companies always promotes the use of that device in order to get you the discounts. Just curious... I dislike it. |
