It looks good so far. Interested to see the full reveal and specs.

This new X5 has some pretty big shoes to fill.

ugly imo, i think the x7 concept is pretty damn ugly too. i think Mercedes is killing the SUV market with the GLE and GLC, Just wish the GLE had the updated dash...but then again the F15/85 X5 has a pretty outdated dash too. BMW's literally been using the same interior styling since 2003.

Put an image of the existing X3 next to it and you see how the new x5 is simply a larger x3

Same here. The roundish rear and the taillight design makes it look like a Cayenne.

Every new generation we see the exact same comments.

But a few years from now you will all be putting orders in

It took a while for the F15 to grow on me.

Though I too think the X7 looks bad. Like a poor concept car.

I think most people that hated on the F15 design were people who recently purchased the E70 (prior models) and for people that leased the E70 probably didn't care much. For me I didn't like the designs of the F15 because I only saw the Xline or Lux Line rumored photos.. Once the Msport line started to show up I was excited to get one once my lease expired.

My lease is about to expire now with my current F15 and I'm contemplating keeping it since at the moment BMW doesn't have anything that excites me in terms of design.

The bigger grille gets rid of that small cutout for air intake just below the current F15 grille. I think it makes the bumper cover look cleaner.

Now that you mentioned it - I can see that work well, maybe it's going to look good after all I think color choice and M Sport package is going to make a difference

They also placed some body panels cladding or add-ons to hide the side profile and contours (see the gas tank flap). My guess the side profile will look very similar to the X7 Concept.
