Update/Info on radio staying on, when turning engine off
I tired something today on my '17 35d.
As I always do, I get to my destination...set the Park brake, put the transmission in P, seat belt off, turn engine off (start/stop button) and then I open the driver's door. When I open the door....Radio immediately OFF. Today... I parked, set Park brake, Car in P, seat belt off, BUT....before I turned the engine off, I OPENED the driver's door and then turned the engine off! Radio stayed ON until I locked the car. Maybe this will be the solution for the Member who wanted the radio to stay on until the car is locked. |

That is exactly how it's supposed to work. Easiest thing for OP of the other tread to do is just code it or push the radio button on again if he/she doesn't want to code the car.

This may be something I coded, but I have found that it is dependent on whether I have the brake pedal depressed or not.
If I open the door with my foot still on the brake, the radio will stay on. If I let of the brake before opening door, the radio turns off. I need to find the setting to turn off every time I turn off the engine....regardless of whether the brake is depressed or not. |

my '15 was coded to stay on until i physically locked the doors via my fob or touched the door handle. I had to code it back to the door opening setting because it drove me nuts.

Ohh, I can't wait until you guys upgrade to the new G-Series BMW.
At least on my G30, the radio doesn't turn off until you open the car door if you are alone or the passenger open the door if you are the passenger on the front seat.

What is really annoying on the all new 7 Series, the 740e...if you have the lights set to Auto and you pull in a garage or they are just on because it is dark out...the full headlights and taillights will NOT go off, unless you lock the car or turn the headlight controls to 0. They stay fully on, even with the car off and all doors closed. So annoying!! Radio stays on too, unless you lock the car! Not very "Auto".

I never use the p button. Just push the stop button and the gear goes atomatic in p. With not locking my radio stays on. The windscreen wipers also on interval if they stood on while driving.

Everything stays on after turning car off until a set time elapses or I get out and lock the car. I appreciate this as I pull into work or home and I can turn the car off but keep listening to a radio show or the end of a song if I choose. Do this a lot when I get into work a few minutes early.
