So did you get it done or still rolling amber?

You think this is bad? On my E90 the amber reflector was INSIDE the headlight. I had to remove the bumper, remove the headlights, spend hours taking them apart, broke my angel eye rings in the process, spend $200 on custom silver carbon fiber overlays for the amber reflector, and $400 to upgrade to LED rings since I broke the fiber optic angel eyes. Then put it all back together. F15 = piece of cake by comparison!

I just wanted to thank r33_RGSport for the DIY and a quality product. I installed them on my X5 yesterday and everything turned out perfect. Thanks!

Did my reflectors couple of days ago. r33_RGSport pdf instructions were very helpful. I still managed to do it without taking wheels off - I just turn them one way for one side and then to the other way for other side. Also, I just took 3 bolts (8mm) and 2 plastic rivets and that was enough to take off oem reflector and put in painted one. Just in case for those who are lazy like me - you can do it easier way. Don't forget to take oem double sided tape off that is left on inner side of bumper from removing oem reflector - otherwise new one won't be sitting flash

Sorry Maverick, I only have laptop, I don't have app on my cellphone. Do you have iPhone or Android? On iPhone it's visible on usual Safari browser, don't even have to do anything. Not sure about Android

I tried doing it this way, but found it difficult to get my hands in, so I just went with taking the liner off. It was so much easier, at least for me.

I knocked this out over the weekend. Thanks to r33_RGSport for the DIY. A couple of things worth mentioning:

A) The bolts holding the bumper guide were a T25 not T27.
B) It is easier to just drill the plastic rivets out and I only removed 3 on each side which gave me plenty of room.
C) You will need a rivet tool to put them on. I'm sure there are other methods to get them to work but for $16.00 get one at harbor freight which also cuts the excess "stem" piece.

Note to you guys that wanting to do front painted reflector. The sooner you do it, the better the old double sided tape comes off the car.
When it gets old, it will break in pieces, instead of being able to pull it out in big pieces.

Knocked this out over the weekend some tips - as JStang mentioned the TORX screws are T25. My X5 was CPO so I've only gotten to do this mod on a 3Y old car. I found that taking off the double sided tape was a PIA but the most effective way of doing it was to just to use your finger (from the outside) and meticulously roll the tape back onto itself to pull off the tape.

Thanks again to r33_RGSport for providing the reflectors and a very thorough write up - it was spot on. Also for the one-time use rivets i found pushing the pin in and then using a plastic fastener remover to pull them out was effective (see IND reflector DIY - http://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1115686)

Also had some difficulty locating the TORX screws because i just didn't know where they were and wasn't looking in the proper direction- here is a pic of me taking them off so you know where to look
