Why would they do this? Why put summer performance tires on an xDrive SUV? I mean I get if they do it on the X5M ... but ... oh well. Sigh.

If you get the Msport line then the 20" wheels then you are stuck with summers. If you get the 19" wheels then you get the all seasons. What most people do is get the 19" wheels with all seasons for their winter set and get aftermarket or upgrade their wheels to 21" / 22" with summers or all seasons

Winter in Austria - My winter tyres are Nokian WR SUV3 on 18" wheels. Perfect traction and handling for our condition of weather.

So jealous of you guys and all your snow. I have almost always run a good all season tire that has above average snow/ice handling. My X5 came with Toyo Proxes they have been good but I haven't pushed them yet in the snow/ice.

I’m with you on this! Didn’t realize I had summer tires until after I left the dealer. Ofherwise I would have asked them to swap them for an all season. I did end up buying the highly regarded DWS06’s and will probably get a set of the Thule/Konig chains.

If they just used the DWS06 and added the mobility kit, they’d have much happier customers and probably save some money over the runflats.

OEM Winters w/ Pirelli's. They're a bit floaty but that's to be expected given how wide they are. Big kudos to the traction control system on these. On snowy woads i get to the apex, goose it to induce a nice drift and the system smoothly engages pulling the ass back in line. My Rover was much more abrupt, love this.

Thanks, I wanted the 491's but have to say these have grown on me and I'm loving them. They're the OEM 611m winter set, tires are the same all around, 285/40/20 Scorpion Winter's but the front wheels are 10" in front and the rears are 10.5". 15 MM spacers in the rear as well.

The Gray looks really cool with the Carbon Black. Now I'm tempted to turn my 469m's Black
