Can piggyback be used on top of ecu/dme flash?

What I mean is if they are stackable? I was thinking piggyback can add boost on top of flash - thus making additional gains. However, I lack knowledge of how exactly piggyback works to definitely say that's doable
Anyone with more experience can confirm?

The real question is not if you can, but should you? To that question, I would say a resounding no.

Flashes and piggybacks are independently developed based on a known condition to provide a modified end state. Neither of which you would have unless you have very detailed knowledge of what each is modifying and the skills to evaluate the cumulative effect; it would be a very bad idea.

The Flash tunes modify the computer to a known end state that hopefully the developer has tested thoroughly. The piggy back tunes start with a known configuration; that being the stock tune and selectively modify to an end state that you again hope they have thoroughly tested.

I agree with everything you say. It's just I remember reading somewhere about jb4 working on top of backend flash tune in tandem and this combo was offered by jb4 developer in the first place. I don't know what the reasoning was, but if I remember correctly jb4 was set as a dedicated boost control module while DME/ECU was doing the rest afr etc. - basically the end result was better than just flash or jb4 alone. Again I'm not an expert in this and I was hoping someone technically more inclined can chime in and explain exactly why it's a good or bad idea

Great thread, lots of info on F30 on this topic.
With Bootmod3 we have overcome the need of any piggyback or jb4 in the last year.
