Where to buy Style 599M wheels?

Looking to buy a set of 599m wheels for my m-sport. I looked for a few weeks for a used set but it seems that just won’t be the case. I can’t seem to find any.

I can buy a brand new wheel/tire package from the dealer, comes with tires, center caps, and TPMS sensors already mounted balanced. But I am stuck getting the Pirelli runflats.

Will I regret getting the runflats in 21”?I have them currently on my 19” m sport wheels and they really don’t ride too bad, especially with the dynamic handling and adaptive m suspension my X5 is equipped with.

Also has any one purchased 599m wheels/tires before? How much can I expect to pay for a full bolt on package?

Thanks to atomic for the pic. My spacegrey should look identical

BMWPARTSPROS.com (located in CA) has them for sale, wheels and tires, for $4k. Best price I’ve seen. You’d have to have them shipped, but could skip paying sales tax.

I got a set a for $3700. But they got me on shipping, $400. They refused to ship to my house, so it was shipped to a Bmw dealership.

The runflats that come with the wheels feel fine to me. Only thing I would change on my next set of tires is to get them thicker. The tires look a little thin for the X5.

Remember that even if you find a used set, it's not the wheels that necessarily set you back a packet... it's the tires. Running 21" wheels long-term isn't cheap. You are limited on the tires you can run due to it being an odd size, and they don't exactly last long either. Depending on your driving style, be prepared to spend $1,500 every two or so years on tires.

But damn. They sure look good, right? In my opinion, so worth it.

That being said, keep an eye out on the classifieds here. A certain member often posts up brand new wheel/tires sets for amazing prices. You just have to be quick!

Well, it seems M5 Monster shows up as "banned" on the forum now. Wonder what on earth happened? He had excellent prices on new sets of wheels/tires all the time. Pity.

P1et is right.. 21" tires are going to be expensive..

Go for the 22" aftermarket like dubsesd X5

You can do 22" wheels, but I'd go with a reputable company such as BBS. That being said, I believe Pirelli is switching up the tires that would fit those wheels, so getting tires for 22s (as far as I know) isn't always easy either.

+1. Agree with Kzang that 22" are the best in 599M and unfortunately they have been discontinued for the past 5 months or so. I tried for long to acquire a pair of 22" aftermarket 599M (there is one dealer in San Diego who had them in stock, but not for long). BMW has been tracking down on the after markets and. hence there are no more imports happening.

Just replic 22” versions. I’d rather not have reps. And 22” at that

Agree 100%. For me, it's OEM or nothing.

Funny thing it is cheaper to buy (from the dealer) the whole wheel and tire package (wheels, tires, center caps, sensors) with the crappy run flats installed for around $4000 versus the rims separately $4000.... and then have to pushase Michelin tires plus install, caps, sensors for around $5500 all in

You can always buy the package, then sell the run flats for $1,250 or so, and with that money buy Pilot Super Sports. You'll spend a little bit of money dismounting/mounting, but that shouldn't be too bad.

I want to bump this thread. When I purchase the wheel/tire set from the dealer, they tell me the TPMS sensors will not work since I am going from 19” to 21”. Is this true?

Will I be able to just go through the idrive and reset the system? Or will everything need to be reprogrammed?

Sounds like BS. You just swap the sensors out. I've done this 10 times when upgrading wheels. If they keep the sensors on the same corners, you don't even need to reset them

What I’m saying is the new wheel/tire package from BMW will come with new TPMS sensors. Will the NEW ones work automatically after a quick reset in the cars idrive? Or will the new dealer need to reprogram the sensors/module.

It would be nice to avoid having to get my sensors removed and reinstalled in the new set. Because the plan is to have a 19” winter set and 21” summer setup and having to swap sensors from set to set doesn’t seem feasible.

They should not have to be programmed by the dealer. Just hit the reset in idrive and it will program itself.

I just changed from 18" to 20". I reset it through the idrive system.
