Battery tender hook up?

Hey all just wondering where you have your battery tenders hooked up? Trunk or under the hood? Did you use the ring terminals to utilize the quick disconnect fittings or do you just use the alligator clips again and again. And since under the hood doesn't have a negative terminal for obvious reasons where are you connecting the black to ground it?

Thanks all.

I connect one ring to the positive terminal under the hood and the other to an unpainted bolt under the hood on the fender

Did the M6 ring connectors that come with the charger fit on the positive terminal? Mine is quite a large bolt under the hood. or did you have to buy a larger size? And do you mind snapping a pick of the ground bolt you used. I've seen several but several are either really large or connected through plastic and not sure they terminate to metal.

There is a negative ground post under the hood. Same with all the other BMW's I have or have previously owned. It is there specifically for jump starting or battery charging. I use alligator clips and leave the hood up (or at least a little ajar) so I don't forget that it's there and back out of the garage with it still hooked up. Currently, the M3 is all tucked in for the winter with tires pumped up to 45psi and a tender on it.

Ya Thanks. I don't think there is a negative one under the hood of my 50i. St least not that I've found. It's certainly nowhere near the positive terminal. I ended up just hooking the negative to the support brace that's near it. seemed to work turned green after a few hours.

Well, there is under the hood of my 50i. It's a hex nut right on top of the body colored diagonal chassis piece that is about a foot and a half in front of and a few inches to the outside of the positive post. Can't miss it.

Yep that's the exact support brace I connected too. I was hoping for something smaller that I could connect my M8 rings too
