Why are there so many black + black wheel combo in stock?

Hi,

I'm in market for x5 and I'm having hard time finding m-sport + non-black wheel. Dealers in my town have either black + m-sport + black wheel OR very well equipped black + m-sport + regular wheel, which is beyond my budget.

Do people really like black + black that much? For example, dealer A in my town has 4 black + black while having just 1 black + m-sport + non-black wheel.

Are you shopping at the Long Beach store. i noticed the same thing with their inventory. I am in Huntington Beach, so the Newport and Irvine stores are closer, but they have very few Sports. My 10 BMWs all came from the Santa Monica store. Long Beach has a ton of MSports, but all with black 20" wheels....and they will not swap the wheels out. I don't want the black, but I like the way Long Beach has combined the MSport with some of the other packages. I am 3 months away from my current lease expiration (2015 Xline35i), so the incentives to move forward are off the charts. I was supposed to pick up a Carbon Black 2018 tonight, but got tied up with other things so they are expecting me back in the morning. Carbon Black + Terra. Hopefully, I will still want the car when I wake up in the morning.

I wish the X3 M40i's were out there in full force. I have not had a chance to drive one, though the new X3 is much larger and close to the size of the X5. The X5 redesign is too far away for me....sigh...I will have to get one in 2021.

I am torn. But, the incentives to get this last year of the F15 are very attractive.

Why not just place an order for exactly what you want? Only takes a few weeks to get your car.

Because people have horrible taste. It's a fad that's been around for long enough... hopefully it will go away soon.

LOL black on black is classic and has been around forever... calling it a fad is horribly inaccurate.

Because. for some reason, dealership thinks customers do not want contrast. You can always ask dealership to look and trade for desired options.

Agree with this. The black 469M wheels were something new, so they all jumped on it. I personally could never drive around with all black wheels on the X5. Looks like one giant black hole. Bit of a shame.
