Pump Sound X5 2018 50i

When I park my X5 in the garage I can sometimes hear a electric pump kinda of sound. The sound is in the motor area on the passenger side. It seems to be recent. Does anyone know what the sound might be? Is it related to the freezing weather.

Air venting cycling... my 2017 x5 50i does the same thing when I unlock as well.

If it's when you first open a door after the car's been sitting overnight, it's the fuel pump priming. Normal behavior...

I think there is also a pump that keeps circulating coolant, those turbos get pretty hot sitting in the middle of the motor. But, yeah noise from underneath when you open door is fuel pump priming.

My 2017 X5 40e did this daily, when the car sat for hours and always when overnight. My '17 35d has NEVER made this sound!

Love that sound when opening the door and engine is cold. Gets me ready for takeoff.
NOTE: Since my recent 70K service I now have a new short beep just a split second before the fuel pump priming whir. I like that too. Must have been some computer update.

Yes. I was surprised to hear that most people say this noise is the fuel pump. Two dealers, told me this sound I hear when I opened a door on my '17 X5 40e is the self leveling air suspension.
