Keep in mind that it will depend on whether or not you have a 3rd row. For example for my 20" staggered setup the required pressure is different from the one in the original post which does not have a 3rd row:

My 2017 M Sport w/ 20" wheels built this past May came with the newest version of The Pirelli P Zero. The older version had a treadwear rating of 280, while the newest version increased to 320.

Interesting...my build was end of June...hmmm...I wonder if it's due to regional differences (US vs CAN).

As I mentioned I don't have the best track record with the pirelli's but I do like their road hazard warranty. Perhaps the new version has addressed the manufacturing issues they were having.

Guess I'll give these Dunlops a shot since that's what the vehicle came with and the first 250km have been uneventful. From their relatively low treadwear rating of 240 I may have an opportunity to move back to Pirelli in not too distant future

Do not believe so... Typically it is whatever it available at the time the vehicle is produced. My neighbors 2016 X5 xDrive35i has the Dunlops.

I have made very good experiences over the years with following the tire manufacturers indications for tire pressure.

For my Dunlop's (20'' staggered) they recommend 2.1bar (31PSI) front and 2.2bar (32PSI) rear. I'm driving alone with little load most of the time. Have only driven about 1200 miles on them, but so far the thread-wear looks pretty good...

As ramsal mentioned, it's an obscure reference on Pirelli's site, and only valid for one year, but still very useful to know (Thank You, Pirelli !!):

Quote:
Road Hazard Policy for Run Flat Tires Only

Pirelli Run Flat tires are manufactured with technology that allows limited low-inflation operation in the event of sudden loss of pressure. Pirelli does not recommend the repair of run flat tires and as a result, Pirelli provides road hazard coverage on all Pirelli produced tires that are manufactured with run flat technology. To qualify for Run Flat Road Hazard coverage, a completed claim form along with the tire exhibiting the road hazard must be returned to Pirelli through an authorized Pirelli dealer.

If a Run Flat tire becomes unserviceable due to workmanship or materials anomalies or road hazard injury during the initial warranty period, which is one year from the date of original retail purchase of the vehicle or purchase of replacement tires (purchase receipt required) or within the first 2/32” of the original usable tread, whichever occurs first, the tire will be replaced with the same or comparable tire at no charge for the tire to the owner. After the initial warranty period, if a Run Flat tire becomes unserviceable due to workmanship or materials anomalies or road hazard injury, the owner must pay the cost of a comparable new Pirelli replacement tire on a pro-rata basis. The authorized Pirelli dealer will determine the cost by multiplying the percentage of the original usable tread worn by the current dealer selling price. The owner must pay for any associated service charges, including costs associated with mounting and balancing of the tire. This Road Hazard Policy is not a warranty. Pirelli does not warranty that a Pirelli tire will not fail due to road hazard and does not authorize any person, including authorized Pirelli dealers, to make such a warranty.

My neighbour here in Coquitlam just showed me his 2017 X5 35d M-Sport today which has a build date of late June 2017. It is shod with the 20” staggered Pirellis rather than the Dunlops (which my 2015 has). I’d trade for the Pirellis in a heartbeat. It appears that the tire brands that are fitted are randomly selected at the factory. I don’t think it’s regional at all.

The nice thing about the Pirellis is that they come with the road hazard warranty from the manufacturer which I used twice to obtain replacement tires when I found a screw in my rear wheel.

Each time I had to educate my dealer about this warranty as they wanted to charge me for the tires. (They even tried to tell me that Pirelli's website was old - I just laughed at the SA and told him to get his manager).

With that aside, I just looked up Dunlop's road hazard warranty and they don't have one! Bummer!

Is BMW making a switch to Dunlop in general? I do know that Pirelli was having a lot of issues with their tires having manufacturing defects.
I have opposite case , mine 2014 came with dunlop , and new one (april 2017 build ) with pirelli . btw good to know about road hazard warranty .

Information request bump.

Can someone take a picture of their door panel indicating the recommended pressures for 20" OEM wheels? Please!

The car should've been equipped with above wheel size from the factory.

Mine came with 18s and it says the recommended cold pressures are 33 front and 41 rear.

If anyone knows the recommended pressure for 21"s with 3rd row that would be appreciated. I just switched from 19" 469Ms to 21" 612Ms and went with the pressure indicated on the door sticker (35 front, 42 rear).

Just bought a set of RF NOKIAN HK8 studded.
Size is 255/55R/19 on M wheels.
Sticker recommendations is 36 FRONT and 42 REAR.
I was thinking on putting between 38-40psi all around...
No passengers and highway driving.
What you think?

Nokian needs more pressure than it states in manual .

I switched from 19"s to 20"s so can no longer rely on the values stated on the sticker tacked on the drivers side door.

I drive a 50i M Sport with Bridgestone Duelers, rated 110Y XL, and both front and rear tires specified at maximum PSI values of 50. The manual states 42 psi front, 49 psi rear, which sounds quite high. For those running the same tire specs (275 Front, 315 Rear), what psi values do you recommend? I have been filling up 36 psi front, 44 psi rear for some time. FYI, I live in Southern California, so extreme weather conditions is not a factor, if that matters. Thanks.

I think 49psi is a bit too high, I'm still not sure if that was meant for RFTs maybe. For non RFT 275/315 set I'm running right now 36/44 and I feel it's good enough, I went up to 49psi one tme as per manual, but found rear too bumpy/stiff.

As stated in the beginning of this thread. Door for my M sport with runflats and 20 is 36/41. Running the same pressure in my now nom RFT DWS

I do 40F / 44R on DWS06, probably higher than majority here as most of my driving are on highway @ 80mph

I also prefer Pirelli P Zero tires over Dunlop tires the vehicle came with. Dunlop tires began to produce drone-like sounds at 21K miles. No unusual for RFT tires to become noisier as the tread wear increases.

Since my wife drives 2015 X5 in the family, RFT tires make more sense.

My factory RFT 19's call for 36F/44R. Sounds like that's close to what I need to run once I get my 295/335R22 Atturo's. 49psi seems really high.
