F15 suppose to have reverse Camera

My 2015 x5 suppose to have reverse camera when bmw ran Vin it says camera. Can I get them to install camera for Free.

Yeah… I would ask the dealership on that one.

If you have the original vehicle window sticker and it says it on there, I would go back to the dealership and argue that. However, only if you bought it recently because if not then you are probably out of luck. Either way, that is a question and argument for your dealership.

Don't get your hopes up or down by asking on here, go straight to the source.

Dealer may be an advocate if based on the build design a reverse camera was intended to be an option; however, I expect any decision would rest with BMW corporate. That said, I would not expect any satisfaction, especially this many years removed from a 2015 build date. Good luck - keep us updated.

I've run 100's of BMW VINs over the years & never seen an option listed in the decoder that didn't actually exist on the vehicle.

Do you mind posting your VIN? Either way, if your X5 has the OEM reverse camera from the factory you should see the below option code & description when running the VIN (I use www.mdecoder.com). If you do see it listed but you don't have it installed, then that would be odd. Still don't think you'd have much recourse at this point, but good luck & keep us posted.

Have you owned the car since new?

Has the car even been in a rear end accident? Was the camera damaged and not replaced? Do you know where the camera is supposed to be?

What happens when you try to modify camera setting on the menu?

Please post back the reply you get after asking BMW to install something for FREE when at least 2-3 years have past after the warranty has expired. This...ive gotta hear.

BTW...there are multiple "cameras" on an f15 X5. So there really isn't enough info to go on. As mentioned...run the VIN so that you have more info and can specify what/which camera.

Yeah.... I can’t imagine BMW would pick up the dime this far removed from the purchase date.
