2014 X5 - Extended Warranty Thoughts/Opinions

Hey guys,

New to the forum here. I'm about to purchase a 2014 sDrive X5 with 47k miles on it.

I had a PPI inspection done, and the only blip on the radar is a Valvetronic Senso Motor issue where the harness needs fixing or worst case, total replacement. I've done extensive DD on the issue, so please spare the commentary unless you have personal experience with the same thing that led to something worse, or valuable insight otherwise. Other than that, the vehicle is in great shape.

Understanding problems like that can pop up on these vehicles, I'm evaluating a few warranties and the dealership is putting together a pretty aggressive offer on this one attached. Using what you already know about this vehicle, please take a look at the coverage levels in the picture and let me know what tier would suffice.

I'll try to attach a better image at some point if I can get one.

Thanks so much!
Will

I just purchased a 2015 xdrive35i cpo with 39k miles this week. I have never bought an extended warranty and this is my 4th bmw. However, with the x5 I bought a 75000 mile 5 year premiun level extended warranty thru MAP recommended by my service advisor that ive been working with for 11 years. Was $3900 which was hard to swallow but my wife will be driving this car and I decided I'd sleep better knowing she was covered if she brought it in. Copay is 100.

So I guess I didn't pay for the warranty as much as I paid thru the nose to avoid future arguments with the wife...haha.
