EBT Can it be coded??
Looking through I can't find a definitive answer, I want Apple Car Play but the dealer said that I can't because my x5 f15 doesn't have EBT.
Can anyone confirm that and if so can I code EBT or for it require hardware? Thanks in advance |

Bimmer tech can code iDrive for EBT but Apple Car Play requires additional hardware. It's not just EBT.

I have a carplay, and i forced myself to use for a day or two, but turned it off, and can safely say, I never will use it.

The EBT I have enables most functions from iPhone including text messaging, Siri, contact book pictures etc. But when I asked for Full Apple CarPlay was told that my NBT Evo unit (iD5/6) needed additional hardware module. So I only bothered with EBT and it does everything I need and adds capability for additional telephone connectivity.

Are you sure that you don't have it?
Here you can find the steps to add it: http://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1033991 On the first page in the first post there is an entire section dedicated to VO coding. You need to add enhanced bluetooth to the VO (you'll see it mentioned explicitly). Still, i would first decode my VIN to see what option my vehicle is equipped with. For example i do not have 6NS but i have 6NW which includes 6NS (enhanced bluetooth). |
