Whirring sound - steering column
Random question. I've noticed an odd light whirring sound that seems to emanate from the steering column only when I turn to the right. No vibration or clicks. Anyone experience this? Possible serious underlying issue? It's a 2014 35d.
thanks! |

From day 1 my 2017 35d makes a slight "sound" when turning. It only happens, or at least I only notice it, at very slow speeds, i.e. parking lots, garages, home garage. Since I only hear it basically when parking, I do not want the dealer pulling anything apart. When I am driving, I hear nothing.

It seems that's a normal sound. My 2009 X5 had it and now my '15 X6 has the same. It's not a mechanical sound like a bearing but more of a simple harmless (I hope) rubbing sound.
