EPA Fuel & Smog Rating Change...

This is more out of curiosity than concern but I noticed on the 2018 window sticker there is a change from 3 to 2 for EPA rating and smog rating went from 5 to 3... I assume this is more about the changes in regulations and ratings but if not does anyone know if anything changed in the vehicle? if so... what?

Not sure on the BMW, BUT if the current EPA CAFE regs are not reduced , the MANDATED 54.5 MPG by 2025 will KILL our monster power. More government #%$!
