22" Wheel Options
Anybody running a wheel that doesn't cost $6500+ per set? I don't keep my vehicles for very long so I would prefer to not spend a ton on wheels. I know some are running Velos and HRE, any other options that are more reasonably priced?

I would recommend Signature Wheels for a nice set that isn't over priced. You will definitely find options for a lighter price tag.
Strong enough to handle the pothole ridden streets of NY and lighter than the stock wheels that can with my 50i, I've had no issues with the fit and finish wth these.

Signature/BC Forged seem to be priced well for what you get.

Yup I second that. I got a set of signature, beautiful wheels. I dont think they are lighter than the 21 that came stock on my x6m, but man are they lookers.

I think it will be hard if not impossible to find "forged" wheels at that price. I have no relationship with Vossen except that I love what they are doing and they are local (Miami) and I believe they make a quality product just like HRE. I left my forged wheels to be re finished and I have two of their new Hybrid Forged wheels on my car, and I believe the quality is far superior than their previous Flow Form/Hybrid Forged. The one on the images are the HF1, based on the success of the forged HC1, these were taken from a shoot they did last week with my car(these are iPhone pics). Unfortunately I dont believe I can post pics of the HF2 yet, but they are similar to the S17 forged they have and to everyone surprise they look very good on the X6.
I generally do not like black wheels but I have had this in my car for about a week and they have really grown on me. I believe this will retail somewhere around 3K. In terms of value, specially when compared to forged wheels I believe this flow form/hybrid forged that most of this companies are doing, are incredible. These on my car I believe weight about 4 lbs heavier per wheel. |

You have options for sure. Rohana, BC Forged, Forgestar, Ferrada, etc. I can help you find the perfect set for your X5M. And if you send me side view pics of your X5M I can show you what the wheels would look like on your car before you place your order. Shoot me a pm or an email steve@n4sm.com

Already was mentioned above, but at one point I almost bought Ferrada 22 inch rims - they go for $2.5k and are forged and lightweight
These are 20's, but they have 22s as well |

I like those wheels you have pictured, but unfortunately their website says they only make them in 20" or smaller

You nailed it. I am now torn between Signature and BC-Forged. I assume they are both made overseas? I just can't justify paying $7500 for Velos (who I had never heard of until I came to this forum). For that kind of money I would just get a proven brand like HRE.
Seems like everybody rips each other off in design. These 3 wheels all look pretty identical (especially if I get satin black). What do you guys think? |

Agree, Velos are way too expensive for what they are. They are way too proud of those wheels. I am going with Vossen, they are better quality and made here in the US. They are other brands out there, like HRE that are better wheels and proven to be of quality. The only time I heard of Velos is by coming to this forum. But I'm not paying the price tag that they sell those, when there are better and more wheel options out there for a lot less $$$$. Just my opinion.

I've just ordered the Vossen HF-2's in a full gloss black (vs brushed) - via Need4Speed. Be a few weeks before I can get delivery and some pictures. Also have the Hamann lowering springs going on!

BC Forged
i am running BC forged on my M4. Although i support built in America there is no difference in the quality made overseas. Take mind BC forged and Signature ( same manufacture) are built in Taiwan and not in China. If anybody knows quality control in Taiwan is far superior in most cases than say China. But China has stepped up their game. it all comes down to final price. find the cheapest price and get quality that matches
I couldnt be happier with my BC forged and planning to get a set for my X5m if i could ever sell my wheels currently. They can custom any offset and width which in some cases some US based boutique forged companies cant go over than a 15mm offset. I am running 17 now and on KW, i want them to sit further out and will be close to a 0 offset in the rear. BC can do it which in itself sold me. Also wheels made in Taiwan have to have all the certifications JWL, TUV etc. US companies dont do that. this should ensure quality is there remember there is a small market for aftermarket wheels on the f85 chassis. dont risk spending 10K on a set of wheels hoping you are getting your money back. wont happen. the threshold for used aftermarket forged wheels is around 3K-4.5K with tires. anything over that price the wheels just sit on the forums until the seller reduces to that level |

Although it will soon have a colour change wrap to Campagnolo grey, black roof and of course the Black HF-2's Carbon mirror caps being installed this weekend with black gloss grills, side vents, rear spoiler and a few other bits (assuming the weather in the UK holds!) |
