Telescoping steering wheel malfunction
So all of a sudden my telescoping steering wheel function stopped working and is stuck in the entry/exit position closest to the gauge cluster. Tried turning the car on off and problem persisted this morning. Needless to say I am disappointed with this problem. I find having the steering wheel as close to my body as possible adds tremendously to driver comfort. Has anyone else experienced this issue? I'll be taking the car into the dealer this weekend.
Just hit 11k miles. |

Mine starting to have some weird noise when moving, but just 30% of the time so for now I just leave it be.

My telescoping column died at around 4000 miles. It would still move up and down but not in and out. The dealer tried to reset it with no luck. The entire steering column had to be replaced.

This is now happening to mine. Smooth when it extends, rough when it collapses.

Stopping the engine doesn't help. You need to wait at least 5 minutes , after locking the doors for the electronics to go to sleep. |

I haven't done this myself yet, but the functions for the F10 are (these may be located elsewhere in the X5/6 modules e.g. FEM_BODY): Easy Entry axis inclination active (normally active): FRM > EINSTIEGSH_NG_AKTIV Easy Entry axis length active: FRM > EINSTIEGSH_LN_AKTIV EASY ENTRY SEAT: SM > EINAUSSTIEGSHILFE > Modus_FA_SLV Last edited by TonySCV; 01-12-2017 at 12:33 PM.. |

I guess mine goes into the gremlin column. A week later, it telescopes again...
