They were aftermarket ones, so I think they got hard and started rusting. |

Paint looks good! Are they painting the reflectors while they are at it? Will be a lot easier to remove and paint them while the bumpers are off.

As for the paint, it's kind of dark in there, not sure if this is the prime paint, or actual paint...probably the former. Mineral White is kind of difficult after speaking w/different body shops. In addition, they need to do "tricoat". It was on my car spec sheet, but I believe it should be standard on all BMWs. But I think, the last "hand" will be done while on the car. It's a challenge, but it's a good challenge. Wish I had the confidence to do the minor mods myself. Asked the guy to volunteer in his shop, just to watch and provide a helping hand, cause he's really unique. His main business is restoration, not fender/bender. He can actually start a car from scratch, i.e. put metal frame together, the build up from that. There are some vintage car enthusiasts that pay a lot of money to start replicas. Cool stuff. Don't ask me how these cars get registration! |

Was he unable to get the dent out of the middle of the rear bumper or is it just the lighting?

I was told color in picture is actual color, but there will some extra "processing" after placement to make it identical to rest of it. It was fascinating to see what's going on behind the scenes. There was actually a foam bar that came out along with the air ducts. Hopefully more pics tomorrow, after a foot of snow |
