Audio Installers, Philly area
Hi Folks,
Newbie here. Loving my 2014 X5 and this community. Only thing I don't love is the audio system (standard hi-fi, not HK or B&O) which is not up to snuff. Car audio used be a hobby of mine, but I don't have time anymore, sadly. I don't trust the average audio hack place with upgrading or replacing this system, and the dealer available options are not universally well loved, and expensive to boot. I need a really good, professional place in the Philadelphia area that can really do this job, any experiences to share? Thanks in advance! |

Thanks guys. I'm about to pull the trigger on the DIY Bavsound solution, just because every car audio place I walk into around here gives me the willies. No way are these tinting/remote starter clowns going anywhere near my car. Any opinions on the quality of the Bavsound stuff? I know its way over priced, but given the installation ease I'm OK with that if the sound quality is a step up from the HiFi option, which is a pretty low bar IMO.

I think you will notice a much improved sound from the base system. You will need to get a new amp from BAV though |

I have heard mixed reviews on the bavsound. I am in the process of doing a full sq setup in mine. I have the H&K so I have the MOST signal. This is what is going in. Zapco lx200.4(x2), audible physic rg100 and rg50, Audio development w800neos, and a Fi Audio Q 12" neo. I will be installing these over the summer. I will be fiberglassing a sub box in the rear drivers side cubby. I will be removing the factory amp and using an Audison bit dmi to replace it then the signal will go to an mosconi dsp. I will upgrade that dsp once zapco releases their new one at the end of the year. Once you remove the amp you can have a sub box with about 1.25 ft^3. If you have any questions just dm me.

There really isn't much we do not know about integration with BMWs, especially the audio systems and we've been doing them for quite some time now.
