Everyone... There is a reason this had an automatic and not a DCT.

Towing. The DCT is not suitable for towing things BMW says. I forgot where I read this but its true.

this appears to have been a mistake in the earlier press release. typo said 4.0L and "new engine"

looks like its corrected now which is awesome news.

for some reason, I read that as the displacement of the TURBOS lol. i was thinking wow thats a bigass snail.

this is what happens when people try to rush out the news. nbd i think we all appreciate being on the cutting edge of these things.

I don't know the name, but my point is the fact that it has the same horse power as the M5 with competition package.
The press release says 567hp / 423 kW, and that 575PS, same as M5 CP.

There's more to the vehicle than it's looks such as fit/finish. On that level, newer BMW products have way more creaks and rattles than before. Not my opinion, read the forums.

Anyhow, YMMV, and clearly yours does. Doesn't make either of us right, I respect your opinion.

Ding, ding, ding - tried to post this earlier from the iPad but shits gone crazy with it. Right now the DCT hasn't been developed well enough for light trucks to be able to tow heavy loads. I know they are testing them but were a few years off, and besides, automatics are getting pretty damn good. I'd love to see how good the new Corvette auto is.

Wow X6M is awesome, as is the X5. But soon expensive. I guess those 500+ horses don't come cheap. But if I could I would.

I do not understand people who wanted a 7-speed transmission, if adjusted BMW 8-speed box for a brutal performance, the engine produces more torque and also destroy performance Cayenne, Macan and ML63 AMG complete with rivals using Box 7 changes, I think the protesters should be proud of the excellent work done with these M.
So technically it could beat an F80 M3 in 0-60 race. Lol!

Does anybody know what that little black strip/protrusion is inside the outer air inlets on the top edge (so right under the fog lights)?

It almost looks like one of those hideous stick-on LED strips but i guess it could also be for the parking assistant or the active cruise control.

Yeah I noticed those too. I'm curious to what they are as well.

Pretty sure the crossbank manifolds have been present since the S63. It was an upgrade from the N63.

I love everything on the new X5M except the front bumper.

Personally I prefer the front bumper design in this photoshop x5m.

Ok so explain to me why BMW was able to achieve a hood cut line that extends to the kidney grills in these two but couldn't do this with the F22/F23/F30/F31/F32/F80/F82? That's one thing I hated among the newer gen cars.
