Valentine one owners with Savvy OBD plugin
Anyone here who uses a Savvy power adapter that plugs into he OBD plug just below the steering wheel having any issues with the X5's alarm going off when you lock the door? I just plugged mine in for the first time and when I lock my door the alarm sets and in a few second later it goes off.
I have done this same setup on my E70 X5 and there wasn't any issue before. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in Advanced. |

Do you have another vehicle or friends car you can test it in, to make sure it's not the v1?

Well last week it was working fine with my E70 :/ No issues..
The problem I am having is that while the OBD is plugged in and when I shut off the car and close the door and lock it. Few seconds later the car's alarm system goes off. I then unplug the OBD and do the same and all is fine. I went further to just plug in the OBD without connecting it to the Radar and I get the same results. I noticed while the radar is hooked up with OBD the V1 starts to go off... but when I plug it in with a regular cig lighter the V1 is quiet. This leads me to believe the connector is faulty or the OBD? |

I think there might be something wrong with my OBD causing the alarm to go off when I lock the car.
1. Savvy setup worked fine with my previous X5 (E70). 2. When I plug in the Savvy setup with my radar, the V1 turns on fine but started to alert in 2 or 3 K bands. 3. When I set up withe V1 with a regular "coil" type wire via Cig lighter outlet, the V1 is quiet and behaves normal. 4. When I plug in the Savvy to the OBD (without connecting it with the V1) and I lock the door the car's alarm goes off. |

Up to point 2, I would say you need to upgrade your V1 to 3.8945. For example, my V1 was quiet in my E70 but the F15 with BMS set off the V1 so I had to upgrade to the latest "J-junk filter" VR announced late in 2014.
However, given points 3 and 4 you may have other problems. You can contact V1 by phone and email and/or go to the RDF for feedback. On the upthread post about the value of free apps, even the VR apps gives one custom sweeps with profiles to change on the fly but YAV1 transforms the V1. Thanks Xeno! I will look into that, but think there might be something wrong with my X5's OBD socket which causes the X5's alarm to go off when I lock the car.

Alarm goes off on new X5 Too (2016 X5)
I have a zubie on my new X5, and alarm goes off 10 seconds (panic alarm i think) after i lock the car. delaer said that is due to the device on the OnBoard Diagnostic port (16 pin port i think). Any advice to not have that happen and keep this on the port (keeps track of mileage for business). Did not happen on my prior X5.

http://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...8&postcount=13 Going to try this as I use Metromile insurance and it requires the obd plug to stay plugged in as it tracks how many miles I drive. |
