Adaptive LED headlights malfunction

As an outside the U.S. X5 50i owner (Australia) with full adaptive LED headlights I love the constant shadowing and ability to have high beam on but block the beam where oncoming traffic or following a car in front whereby the full surrounds light up apart from the area that would effect the other driver. It is a brilliant system. Hence my disappointment that the system stopped working a few days ago reverting to the conventional auto high beam on/off function. Does anyone know what may have caused the sudden loss in functionality???? All systems appear normal with no faults indicated. Just my fancy high tech adaptive lights are gone ?

So just an update for those who are interested. The adaptive headlight function had in fact disabled itself due to a software fault that BMW said was a known problem on some X5s. A software update on the control system and all is working well again

If you could be kind enough to find all the software differences between auto high beam and adaptive it would be great. We are pretty sure there is a hardware difference that stops the adaptive feature in the US from working, thought build specs say it is "decoded" (as if can be coded). Coding has not produced the tunneling /shadow effects for those who have tried it. I imagine getting the codes will work only if you know the dealer personnel well.

The adaptive HBA has never worked on the M6 or M6 GC CP
Got a big refund from BMW as i specifically wanted this on my car.

I am also in Australia and have the adaptive LED lights. A few times driving on highways without streetlights the LED lights worked very well. They however don't work too well with opposite traffic when you drive down for example Hume Hwy where the two directions are divided by bushes.
