Qns. about Re-manufactured parts

Guys,
My car is in BMW center to fix Kombi issue. They mis-diagnosed the issue last week and requested replacement for Kombi from BMW AG.

However after replacing the Kombi, issue was still there and they fixed the issue by replacing "Re-manufactured head unit HU-U"

My question is do BMW Center always use Re-manufactured parts? Can I ask them to replace it with brand new Head Unit? Car is less than 300 miles.

This is media/CD unit when I search online.

@abhiku , I believe it is not up to the dealership.
Maybe wdimagineer have better insight on this.

You could ask, but this is common practice. The parts go through an extensive refurbishment process that makes them equivalent to new. It keeps costs down.

They have no obligation to replace it with a brand new part, and new parts may not be easily available. The warranty states this.

However given the vehicle is so new I'd ask for it to be replaced with new.

Thanks wdimagineer

Yes I understand the refurbished process, if the car is year or two old. but this is brand new X5 with 257 miles on it.

Car is still there as navigation was locked and they never unlocked it after HU replacement. Also they managed to put little scoff marks on Kombi glass after 2 times taking in and out for diagnosis.

Since they already have replacement Kombi they got from BMW AG, I have asked them to replace it with new unit they got from AG. They are doing it today. Tomorrow I will call them to replace HU with new unit.
