F15 X5 Tunes

Sorry if this info has been posted, but I read through about 9 pages of old posts and could not find the info. Maybe it should be a sticky?

What other tunes are available for the F15 X5 35i?
I've seen info on Race Chip but was wondering if there were any others that ppl recommended?

I'm assuming there is no remote flash option like Cobb?

You also have Dinan, way more expensive but does not affect your warranty:

there is a lot of posts about various tunes, their performance gains and efficiencies, you can start by checking this out if you haven't already:

An alternative to Dinan and Racechip is the Burger Stage 1 (http://burgertuning.com/N55_Jb_BMW_P...nce_Tuner.html)

EastCoast335i , what are you trying to achieve?
Just simple upgrade or more mod in the future like what I am doing?
If you want something simple, I would suggest RaceChip Ultimate or BMS Stage 1.

Something simple, AND easy to remove for service...
This is my wife's car so she doesn't need anything crazy...

Something simple and easy that would be either BMS Stage 1 or RaceChip Ultimate. Both are easy to install, only 2 plugs. But here are the main difference.
RaceChip Ultimate, you can change the dial for more boost. Also, if you are just bringing the car in for oil change or minor service, you can just remove the controller unit and use the dummy plug to bring the car back to stock.
While BMS Stage 1, you will need to unplug the harness from the sensors if you want to just temporarily remove them.

I know this is going to sound like a stupid question considering the choice of vehicle that I made (2015 50i), but do any of these actually help with mpg if driven sensibly? Of course, I'm will to live with the mileage, I was aware of the mileage (or lack thereof) when I purchased this model, but If i can improve it, and still have the power as i chose, that's just an added benefit. Thanks for starting this thread Eastcoast335i, this was something that was of interest to me also.

Driving with BMS tune for over 5000 miles the mpg seems the same. I average 15MPG with 60/40 city/freeway, not pretty I know but I didn't buy 50i to save gas.

Well, supposedly, with more power, you will drive the car less harder.
But then on the other side, with more power, you can't resist yourself from driving hard.

Surprisingly, I take it easy for the most part. I really enjoy the fact that I know it's there, but of course not as much as using it. I won't use it constantly, just every now and then when I'm feeling my Wheaties. I'm an accountant, so I guess that explains the conservative side of my thinking. Don't get me wrong...i love the feeling of being pressed back into the seats too (and beating the ocassional dude in a mustang that thinks he's the stuff), just not all the time! Thanks for all the advice!

Well, supposedly the RaceChip Ultimate setting C is for ECO mode.

I don't think that there is magic pill for these engines (I have one too), in everything I read on the boards here, is that you have more options with the RC ultimate.

That said, I have not purchased one either. My wife is also the primary driver so nothing too wild is needed.

By the way, what part of Tennessee??
