Another option since you are in Denver. I had a local shop put together a summer set with VMR wheels for our 328d because I didn't like the tirerack choices for summers. You could give them a shout. Ask for Blake at 3zero3. https://www.3zero3motorsports.com/ |

I got tire rack 20" rims with pirelli scorpion ice and snow run flats in 275 and 315. The rims are OZ superturismo dakars in 20x10 and 20x11. The whole package was $3721 mounted and balanced with tpms. You can probably do better price wise with reps from eBay but I just wanted to get this done quickly. Rims showed up in two days. They are nice. I'll post pics after it gets a little colder and I mount them.

Does anyone know if the winter set that fits the 2014 x6m (previous model) will fit the 2017 x6m?

Ebay has tons of bmw replica wheels, they work great and all 4 are 1k, make sure its the same rolling diameter, the X drive is sensitive

no but getting them machined is fairly easy (i was thinking the reverse way) , I have a pair of wheels now on my x5m that 74.1 all around but the rears are smaller in the back and just use hub rings.
want me to find a pair that i will use that you can buy too? something like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/20-2016-X6-M...JWeM1I&vxp=mtr

a) didn't want staggered for snow. Square and narrower than stock is better. b) negotiated set at just over dealer cost as part of the car sale. |

I would still prefer a true square set up, though. That way, one can rotate all four corners.

Yea, ~$1000 sounds about right. A BMW tax maybe? But the convenience sure is nice. 4 wheels, mounted, balanced, and ready to bolt on vs the potential for lots of hassle. Had that happen before when piecing things together over the internet. That's why I either go OEM route, get a package from someone like tirerack, or use a local shop to piece it all together for me. Shipping big heavy wheels like these isn't fun.
Also replicas take a huge hit on resale when you want to move on...so you eventually get some of that back when selling. Any idea if those ebay rims are TUV certified? To me they are a big unknown. It'd be interesting to compare them to the factory originals (weight, etc). |
