Led angel eye question?

I have the led lighting package and love the angel eyes. I was wondering why they don't stay on when I shut off the car? Normally they did with my m3's for a little while so I could look at them when I walked away, at least until I locked it maybe? Also they don't turn on when I unlock the car after being away and it being locked for a while. Is there something I'm missing here? Such beautiful lights I want to see them....

On your idrive menu, check the lighting options.

There is an option I believe called pathway lighting that can be turned on or off and a timer can be set for how long the headlights stay on after getting out of the car.

It's set for 60 seconds but I get out of the car and lights are off... I keep the lights in the auto position.

Are you checking during daylight hours? IIRC, my halos only come on at night when I unlock the car, i.e. they are tied to the ambient light sensor that triggers the headlights.

So with such a beautiful light and expensive package we cant see them during the day time when exiting and entering the car?

When I unlock the car, the angel eyes aka halo's light up... when I lock the car I don't recall the angel eyes lighting up and staying lit for a few moments before dimming.

I don't ever recall this happening on my E chassis cars in the past.. but it was also long time ago and it really didn't matter to me if they lit up or not. If it is a big deal to you, then maybe it can be coded?

Leave your light switch in the auto position, not the off position. I think that might light up the halos when you unlock it. I'm not sure about the X15, but that's how it is on my M3.

If anyone could shed some insight on this for me I would be grateful. I'm starting to think my halos only come on with unlock when car senses night mode. Is this he same for everyone? I want to shut my car off and see them as I walk away like I did on my m3's. Does anyone's car do this?

Doesn't work like that as far as a i know. The moment you open the car to exit, lights will shut off. Maybe coding is your fix.

So nothing is broken on my car or not working, can you tell me when and how your halos turn on when not driving/engine off... What sequence gets them to turn on if any

The only time my halos ever turn on is when unlocking the car having the headlights on auto.

Yeah it might have done that on the E chassis cars, but as far as I know the F chassis don't do that... then again maybe its a M thing?
