Guage Cluster Frozen

So my instrument cluster screen randomly froze one evening. Started the car with the drivers door open, the screen below the dials in the gauge cluster would not load anything other than the gear indicator below the tach. The only way to resolve the issue was to stop the car and let it go into "sleep" mode after about 15 minutes. This is the only time this has happened. I have a 2015 X5 xdrive 35i with about 8,500 miles and HUD. See the attached picture for reference.

This has happened to many including myself. Usually restarting the car like you did by letting it sleep for a few resolves the issue.

Had this issue with mine a few times (not in a while - fingers crossed). Seems to always correct itself.

My father had that in his 2014. It actually completely went out. The dealership had to swap out the entire gauge cluster to fix it. The car barely had any miles on it. Happened quite early in him owning it. Fun pic of when we picked it up. Seems like ages ago.

^^^ That's brutal. That will be the next fix for me, should it happen again.

Same one then: Van Poelgeest. They probably all share the same cover when revealing the car to the new owner...
