remains to be seen if/how Thanksgiving will interfere with transport, but it's looking like it should be here next week, barring a lost week due to the holiday.. Either way, should line us up for the December program, though I don't have high hopes it will change at all from November.
In the paint shop! (per the 800#, chances are it's really in final assembly now). Shows up on bmwarchive.org now with options.. and a production date of TODAY. Talk about real-time..
Released to carrier! Estimated arrival at dealership Sunday, 12/1!!

If that holds, we should be able to pick up Tuesday or Wednesday!

hi,
may I ask you how you found out those infos?
11/5 - order placed
11/8 - 112 status "scheduled for daily production pack"
11/18 - 150 - "in production," estimated completion date 12/2
11/25 - body shop, estimated completion date updated to 11/27

I ordered mine 15th July, changed the order on 29th Aug. On 26th November dealer told me that car got a production number (didnīt tell me this number), heīs expecting to get the VIN soon.
How did you get infos out of the production? My dealer told me that the Iīll get the VIN when the car was completely produced.
Pls send links of websites, how to track production!

Thank you.
Kind regards
Marko

From the 800#. If you ask for a representative, they usually have more detail than the automated recordings.

Call 8008311117

You'll need your production number or VIN.

If that is the same US 800 # that I called, they could not track my production number as it was out of country.

Also, Chris 12/1 is soon, wonderful, I enjoy mine , you will too, I have not heard anything bad.

Good call, I didn't notice he's not in the US. I would've thought it would work for you in Canada, since it's "BMW North America" not "BMW USA..." Are there similar customer service numbers in other countries? I would have assumed there were. The BMW NA number I posted gives us status even for cars built in Germany, not just South Carolina.

Wondering if anyone can tell me approximately how long it took them to receive their vehicle once production was complete.

Ours was completed on the 6th of November. We're in Hawaii and being told that it will 'probably' be on the boat from Oxnard today, but could take up 2 more weeks before we get it. This is our second time purchasing and X5 (our last one was a 2011 and shipped to England) and I feel like this time it is taking a lot longer than it should.

Apparently all the vehicles intended for West coast US are put on a train to CA, which takes about 20 days to reach CA and then trucked to the dealers taking another 5 days.

Ours actually left SC on the 13th of November and reached CA on the 25th. It is now just a matter of getting it on the boat (hopefully it was loaded yesterday) and over to us. We are hearing it takes 5 days, and then another 2-3 days for them to unload it here, and 1-2 days at the dealership. All the details we are getting are extremely vague, which is what I find so frustrating. I get that they don't want to be held specific 'promise' date, but I would really like to have more information than 'it will show it up when it shows up' and 'just be happy. You're getting it before we're getting our show cars'.

I was really hoping someone here could tell me that it took them x amount of days for their car to go from SC to CA and then x amount from CA to Hawaii so we would have a better idea of when to expect our car to show up. Like I said, we've been through this process once before and our car had a lot farther to travel...

picked up my X5 on Saturday. It was raining over the weekend so I couldn't take any pics. Will take some once the weather picks up (and I'm not out driving ).

Congrats!

Mine was supposedly due to the dealership over the weekend but they didn't get any cars Friday or Saturday. CA is looking into it. 800# had an estimated delivery date of 12/1, which seems odd to me, being a Sunday when the dealership is closed. So I'm thinking it's just a delay due to thanksgiving that the computers didn't factor in (not sure how the dealer gets notified, but my CA said something about them being notified that it should have come in).

Hi,

I placed an order Oct 7th for a X5 xdrive35i MSport. I still don't have a production number. At the time the order was placed the CA told me they do have allocations for orders for the new X5, last time I asked for a production number they told me to hold tight as they were still waiting for production numbers for a few X5s. Does this sound right?

Thanks

They don't have an allocation for you yet.

What do you think my next move should be since the dealer "confirmed" that they had open allocations? After this they don't really seem very honest. I guess its time to start the search again. Thanks

They may have been given less than they expected. My dealership only had 2 allocations for X5's in November. I would probably give them a few days to produce a production number with a December allocation, or at least a more forthcoming answer.

I had same problem with dealer! Keep calling 1800 number, especially after 12pm, cause the computer gets updated at that time. Customer relations will know when it is in their inventory, and then you can call to push dealer. I think these dealers want to keep them on their lots to show people for as long as they can!

Thanks, good to know about 12pm. 800# through last night still showed it released to carrier with an estimated delivery of 12/1, no update since 11/27.

Trust me, my dealer knows I track it myself and I'll keep bugging them until I get the car, so I'm sure they're eager to get me out of their hair lol.
