Are you asking about the wheels or tires as well? If so, what size tires?
Thanks Andrew!

Stock wheels are 9.5x19 ET37. They are the stock 255x50x19 wheels with runflats. Looks pretty darn boring... I was thinking the best tires would be 275x40x20 on the front and 295x40x20 on the rears. My concern is the data from wiiltheyfit shows the front diameter was 737.6mm (old) and 728mm (new) for a reduction of 1.3%. The rear was 737.6mm (old) and 744mm (new) which is pretty darn close. Not sure about speedo and xdrive stuff...

Any help is GREATLY appreciated. If they won't work, I'll try to find a buyer and keep looking for the staggered setup.

So, the new wheels will sit 3mm further in on the front and 2mm further out on the rear. Shouldn't be a problem, especially with 255mm tire sizes.

The other thing that you'll want to confirm is the hub (bore) size.

EDIT: you added stuff after I replied.

You are gonna want to run a 315/35 on the rear. You'll want the front and rear diameters the same size. Or at least closer than the 295 gets you.

Andrew...thanks. I saw the second part of your question after I hit "post". It was my understanding that a 315 tire is too wide for a wheel that's 10.5. I thought 295 was the widest on the 10.5.

If I can put wider tires on the wheels, then the "stock" size would be ideal for me:
275x40x20 fronts (on my new used 20x9.5 et40 wheel (stock wheel would've been 10.5x20 et40))

and

315x35x20 rears (on my new used 20x10.5 et35 (stock wheel would've been 11.5x20 et37))

The x5 is my wife's car and I will be sleeping in the basement if I screw it up!

You'd have to look at the specific tire to see if it will work on a 10.5 inch wide wheel. Conti DWS-06's are spec'ed for 10.5 to 12.5 widths. I suspect many others as well.

You are correct, 270/40 fronts and 315/35's rears and you'll be good.

Plan ahead, put a nice sofa and 55" OLED TV down there and then it's not so bad :-)

Happy New Years everyone!
These are 375 replicas but 20" size. You have couple of options here, you can run 275/40-20 fronts and 315/35-20 rears, or you can do a square set up with 285/40/20.

As far as you have 0% delta on rotational diameter between front and rear you will be fine.

You can check this F85 thread, same applies to F15

Hello, I need some advice from gurus in this thread. I have a F16 with square setup of 255/50/r19. Can I replace them with the staggered setup as below?

285/35/21
325/30/21

Any words on the drivability?

Thanks!

Yes, those specs you posted are OEM.

Drivability is great IMO, though I can't compare to 19's as I've never had that size wheel/tire on my X5. Ride quality depends largely on your tire choice, though there's only a few to choose from in the 21" OEM spec, and most/all of them are very good tires.

I can confirm it will look exponentially better with 21's

Would like to move to 21'' 10.5'' wheels up front and 21'' 11.5'' in rear, with 295/35/31 tires up front and 295/40/21 in rear.

Do you know if this set up is too much, especially on the front where even the X5M model uses 21'' 10 wheels and 285/35/21 tires up front?

Will have to think about snow too, so I don't want a very narrow "gap" in the front. What worries me most is the 10.5" up front.

Has anybody moved beyond stock specs on either F15 or F85?
My assumption is that these tires should fit without rubbing. In my case, I have the standard M Sport 19 inch on a 2018 X5 50i and found a great set of 21 inch OEM on Craigslist with performance tires. I live in the East Coast and the ride was just way too harsh for me - bone jarring on commutes and I ended up switching back to the original all season 19 inch. They looked great, but I don't think the suspension is designed for low profile performance tires - unless you are OK with a really hard ride. My 2 cents worth. Luckily, I was able to sell the 21 inch really quickly (after fixing a couple of small curb rashes).

Will look amazing, but you'll get a much harsher ride. I tried 21 inch tires on my X5 for around a month before taking them off. I also had 21 inch on my previous Cayenne S and it seemed the ride wasn't as hard as on the X5. Anyway, it will look great and might be worth the trade-off.
