Heated steering wheel retrofit?

So I have some regrets not getting the cold weather package today because I could've used the heated steering wheel. Is there any heated steering wheel retrofit available for The f15?

You will need this, and I will post a DIY on how to remove your steering wheel so you can check whether or not your current steering wheel allows heat or not.

http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...94&hg=61&fg=35 - judging from the parts, it's just a simple connection with this module I have shown and if you take it apart, it should just plug in.

From what I can tell, just adding the switch may be all that is needed. The parts department does not see a distinction for steering wheels with or without the heating element. Accordingly, it appears that it is in there regardless. Great news and thanks again!! I may be able to get the very thing I wanted despite myself! Switch is only $77.

You will need the switch, steering wheel with heating element inside, then coding.
The part number for the one with the heating element is different.

Yeah, that's what it seems like to me because I searched all over for the heated components, and the steering wheels are all the same regardless of build. So that means they come pre-programmed it seems. I'll check the build information tonight to see if you need to add anything to your FA and VO Code BDC_Body. $77 is pretty cheap to have heated steering!

Ah, @r33 is correct. The non-heated steering wheel is part number 32306868764 while the heated steering wheel is part number 32306868765. You can see that here - scroll down the list. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...82&hg=32&fg=35.

@TrojanLaw, let me know what prices they give you for the heated steering wheel. Actually here's a list of prices for the heated steering wheel in order of increasing price:

http://www.bmwpartsupply.com/OEMPart...306868765.html
http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-18...-bmw-part.aspx
http://www.eurocaroemparts.com/store...part61859.html

I believe this is for the steering wheel only. Your airbag can be used on these steering wheels since it is the same US sport airbag. I just took off my steering wheel and I have the cold weather package. I can sell you my sport steering wheel if you like. You have my number. We can discuss this over our coding session if you like. I have kept it in mint condition since I am the only one who drives my vehicle. Hope this helps.

Here's as picture of mine as it was taken off last week (now sitting in bubble wrap) in the same box my CF steering wheel came in:

Proof that I have the cold weather package :

I believe you will the switch, new column coil, and the module inside the steering wheel.
Let me know what you have already and I'll try to find out what else that you need.

Well, in that case, you will need the whole new steering wheel, column coil, on-off button, etc.
I would guess, you are looking in around $2k to retrofit that.

Well, you will need a whole new steering wheel since your current steering wheel is non-heated one. You can't make non-heated steering wheel to be heated one.
Don't worry, I'm not trying to sell you anything.
You can try that $77 switch and hit the switch 1000 times and your steering wheel will never become a heated steering wheel.

But hitting it 1000 times will warm up the hand, the same heating effect

r33_RGSport is correct. There is a reason why the heated version steering wheels have different part numbers. Mine is a heated steering wheel and it was taken off, put back into the box, and is in mint condition. I can sell you mine if you want and you can just buy the remaining switch/module. That would be the cheapest way. Mine is just sitting in the original M-Sport Steering Wheel package box.
