UK F15/F16 Delivery for March '15 new plate

Hi everyone,

This post is primarily aimed at UK posters but anyone feel free to contribute!

Who is expecting a car to be delivered for March 2015 new plate?
What status has your car got to?

Is it normal for the car to land in the UK just say 2wks before delivery?

Any help would be appreciated, the wait is agonising! Our American fellows get their cars in 6wks!!!!!!!

I picked up my F16 last week and it arrived via boat from USA and Southampton late Dec, late Nov build, then went to BMW UK vehicle preparation centre at South Yorkshire and then the dealer scheduled it for delivery on 19 Jan - I could have had it a bit earlier. Mine took 7 months for delivery! I ordered early though to get confirmed early delivery of first X6 into UK. I think 2 weeks before seems fine.

Thanks for that! Yes I think 4wks after production has finished seems perfectly normal. Were you able to track your car on the shipping websites posted on other threads? Or did you not even bother ?

I'm expecting the car to land in the UK within the next 2 wks.

Addicted to the power of M50d engine? Truly is world class.

I never tried to track it, but I don't think it is possible for us in Europe. The dealer and I agreed on delivery on 19 Jan as it suited me and I had advanced booked a car detailer to take the car for 4 days from the 20th and they stuck to it. The M50d engine I am sure will be great, but so far (600 miles) I've not put the accelerator down - mpg average is 32. Once over 1000 miles and I'm in Germany I expect fireworks...!!!!!!! The digital dash is fab and surprise surprise Cilla the voice control seems to work!

Hi. From memory my car was 2-3 weeks from landing to dealership and me driving off the forecourt - WRT new plate N/A in my case as I have Cherished Plate

Agree, wait is painful along with delays due to this that and the other.
IT WILL BE WORTH IT though.

Are you planning any mods or adding Alloy Gators to protect those shiny new wheels? I can recommend 'em.

Not planning any mods yet! I do like the idea of blue M brake calipers but the huge cost of them seems silly. I'm also purchasing the full service pack and that will cover the brake pads/discs of the factory spec not after market ones

Is the alloy protector discreet ?

Alloy Gators in black blend with the tyres; invisible really.

Can send you some shots of mine; I had them fitted to both set of summer and winter wheels. PM me and I will reply when at home later.

Have you looked at the M Performance kit? I think that comes with the M Brakes as part of the package.

I'll definitely look at because even with surround view I have to admit to occasional alloy skirmish!

Yeh I'm negotiating on the purchase of various M performance bits for the car but at the moment we are waiting for reply from BMW UK clarifying whether the service pack will cover costs of M brakes or not.

Did you get any paint sealant put on?

Yes, had my Body, Windows and Alloy's coated with Nano Ceramic seal and also leather seats because I have the White Dakota seats - so far so good!

Who provided the sealant for you ? You get the dealer to do it ?

I would be interested in having pictures of the Gators too. My wife has trashed the alloys on by 535d and I am already panicking about the X5 40d and it still 3 months away

Got my Detailer to do all the work; over 3 days in his workshop.
